Can you believe that It's mid-May already!?

And we are in the final 2 weeks of the 8 Week spring challenge!

Whether you're in the challenge or not let's not let the momentum slow down.

I know it's been hard for me to keep my focus. Restarts are just part of life, during the week, on the weekends, after the weekends, whatever. Sometimes we get what seems like a long groove, sometimes not. The bottom line is that we can't give up and must keep bringing our HEALTH back in focus.  Looking fit is really just a side effect of BEING HEALTHY. Having a good body weight is BEING HEALTHY. Even if we aren't exactly there yet, and we have to keep restarting, it's important!!

Sure, I know it's harder as we age. I know my 60's are even harder than my 50's were, and so on. Hormones have a play, but even then, it's all about CALORIES IN. That's the number one factor when it comes to maintaining and losing body fat. It's not fair that our TDEE goes down as we age, and that our LBM goes down, and our body fat climbs faster than no bodies business. Oh yeah, I know it well and the struggle is REAL.

Let's keep the hammer down and continue to make this our year!

What is it that you are grateful for today?

I can think of many things for me; Even though I'm not exactly at the body fat level I want, I GET to do many things (I am no longer physically crippled), it's actually warm enough now to open the windows, I have a wonderful healthy cat whisperer husband and we have 8 absolutely amazing beautiful cats who fill our house with so much love and a reminder about what is important in life. We can learn a lot from the simple minds and actions of animals as we pursue our human existence, morality, spirituality, and solving hard problems daily.

    Your gratitude sounds beautiful!

    On Saturday I met some close friends from college and had a great time. We took many pictures of each other. The photos of mine were really disappointing. I thought I've known very well about that I have a long way to go for the goal. The photos made me frustrated and depressed.

    However, that mindset is not what I've wanted myself to have for this fitness journey.
    I need to refocus on my goal. Also I need to keep reminding myself I have to be grateful for what I have today. I don’t want to give up myself and don't want to do all or nothing any more.

    I am thankful that I have another day to restart.
    Restart is another blessing! πŸ™Œ
