Yesterdays Hike:
Randy and I went on a hike yesterday. There was still a lot of snow covering up the trails so we couldn't go far and it would have been very easy to get lost in the forest because of the trail being covered up.
We found a lake to hang out about 2 miles out to hang out and have lunch.
There were so many wild flowers!
The Challenge!
Today I took my pictures and weighed in and I've lost 6 pounds since I've been writing my calories down on the monthly grease board. I am ready to step up the deficit a bit again. I listened to a podcast with a doctor who said people who live the longest are those who don't try to stay comfortable all the time. He also said that we have trained ourselves to eat at every little hunger pang. That really got me motivated to not eat any more after dinner the last few nights! It will work! I will achieve my goal. I know it!I'm excited also because Mina is doing it with me and texting me often. She is doing well too. It may be slow for us, and we are not perfect with macros, but we are doing it together!
Today's Bike Ride:
16.75 mi
2:01:25
1,826 ft
It was my typical ride, out to the beautiful view and getting milk on the way back.
I've been making cultured butter and buttermilk, and using the skim milk for my level-1 protein ice cream treats.
And there were lots of wild flowers all along the road today.
Kitten update
The two tabby's are gone, that's them above after we dropped them off to go to their new homes. We did a really good job with them, they are calm and just sitting there.
So now the last little white kitten is so lonely! We got a harness and leash so we can bring him with us around the house. He will go to a home in a couple of weeks, and we'll be getting many new kittens to imprint again very soon, probably as soon as the white kitten leaves.
That's it for now. Life is good. We can do hard things and keep having a better quality of life. Just enough stress, like goldilocks. Not too much, but not so little that we grow soft and wither away.

Love all the beautiful pictures. You are living your life to the fullest!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen any cat with a harness! So adorable! ๐ ๐
๐๐ปSo far, so good. I wish I'd get back on track during the challenge and then just keep moving forward consistently.
I agree with the goldielocks metaphor. Just right and ideal.
Happy Monday, Roberta! ๐

DeleteThank you so much for your encouragement, Roberta!
I understand how hard losing a small amount of weight would be. Sometimes, It'd be much harder than my weight loss.
I am grateful we are in this together.
