December!

It is December already!

Today we had the first cold sparkling frost. Randy and I are waiting at the shop to get our winter tires rotated onto our vehicles.

We have been busy with Sheriff duties and training and maintenance projects around the house and property that are ongoing.

Wednesday we spent a long day training in an old unoccupied government building doing building entry and searching tactics. We used simulation guns and it was great training, as we as exhausting. I'd like to lose a few more pounds to improve my agility, but I'm doing OK.

We are both involved in in keeping up with computer tech skills and imprinting the most recent batch of kittens. We will have one more batch soon and then maybe a break until spring.

Life goes on and it's always a battle to just maintain. Even with all the problems in the world, there is still an overabundance of food at this time. Yes, all the food is expensive. The better the quality even more so.

Who knows how long this will be, but for now we have choices. We must choose wisely. We must do this all of our lives.

I know if I gave up, which I often feel like doing, I would end up hugely overweight.

It's a lifestyle.

Exercise is the easy part for me, but it's still a battle. Getting started each session is a mental battle. It always end up feeling good, only because I continue to be consistent. If you let yourself go, it will hurt more. But your body can adapt to where it mostly feels good again to exercise if you get consistent again.

When you think that there is something wrong with you because it's all such a battle, please know that this is a battle for everyone and not just you.

So, keep fighting the good fight.

I'm always here, and I will never give up the fight.

There is always a reason to not give up, yet it's still a mental battle.

I don't have as much time to write anymore. For me, it's a lot less talk and a lot more action.

I always love to hear from people when they have the time.

  1. Thank you so much for the post, Roberta! I'm happy to read it. I agree with the quality food and ingredients are all more expensive than junk food.

Love your eyes and abs definition!

It's been 2 months since I started running. 🏃‍♀️ 3 days a week. It really helps especially when I feel discouraged and depressed.

You are just an amazing person. For over decade, you've been walking this journey on your own. Roberta, I feel like I can restart when I read your post and see your picture.

    Have a blessed weekend! 🎁🩷

    1. Thank you Mina! Your comment means so much to me. It gives me another reason to not ever give up.

Good for you on running!!! That is a big deal. I know running helped me so much for decades. It's something you can always do, no matter what, even the weather won't hurt us, except it's nearly impossible with too much snow on the ground, haha, other than that. We don't have to go fast. We can go our own pace. We get fresh air and enjoy the outdoors. Running is a beautiful thing and it definitely gets our heart rate up more than walking, and it can be intense enough to grow our mitochondria cells which helps us so much!!!

I put some makeup on for a change. It's something I only do rarely. Tonight I will wear makeup again as I'm going to a toast for our friend John Ford who we lost. It will be good to hug my friend Angela and also to see many of the retired deputies from our Sheriff's department.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

      Roberta
