This picture made me happy today!
It's from the podcast today in the 1P App.
Our Christmas 🎄 decorations and lights are up. I have the lights ✨️ up around the kitchen and my office and I think I might leave them up all year. We put them all on remote control switches. ✨️
SweetiePea liked the lights too!
Just stay calm.
That's my mantra lately.
I'm only going to bake for Randy when I am strong and motivated with willpower and package everything up for him in the freezer.
I need to get serious with my nutrition. See, it ebbs and flows in motivation like everyone else.
I have to be fed up enough to be more disciplined with the plan.
It's OK. Just stay calm.
Do what needs to be done.
It doesn't matter what day it is. It doesn't matter how long it takes. It doesn't matter how many times you must restart.
The worst thing any of us can do is to give up and just let ourselves go.
Just think of all the starts. If we didn't have them, and all the days this last year were with our heads in the sand we would have dug a deep hole!
So just stay calm.
Make a nutrition plan and stick with it.
Me, I'm going to cut out bread and sugar for a while. Just chicken, fish, eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, level 1 protein ice cream, veggies, lemons and limes, apples, rice, and oatmeal. I will carefully add in avocado, butter, tortillas, salmon, and grass-fed beef.
That's it. I will enjoy every correctly portioned meal.
I will cut the tuna cans into two servings. I will only eat half of the protein ice cream.
It simplifies the grocery shopping.
Just stay calm.
It's part of life. Just move forward.
I wish I could just hide, hunker down, and focus jut on nutrition and workouts. I don't want to talk to anyone or see anyone until I get to my goal. But life doesn't work that way.
Patience. Bide your time.
Do the work anyway.
Just stay calm.
Just like everything else today, the Friday before Christmas 🎄 weekend. Crazy. Butthead people cutting you off and turning at stop signs without stopping!
It has been so stressful for me lately as my health insurance changed and I have to find all new doctors. I've been on the phone, on hold, printing and filling out forms. I'm reminding myself constantly to remain calm. When I do, I learn a lot from the people on the phone about navigating the system. I found a new PCP in Grass Valley now and a new shoulder surgeon in Truckee. Things will work out. Just stay calm!
Kittens!
The kittens are progressing along. I'm making a collage which I'll keep updating as we go along. There is no end in sight, we just got two more darling little babies who are not even on this yet:
When they start getting big enough to jump the little gate, we have on the kitten room door we graduate them to a kitten room at the vet's house 5 miles from here.
Here is a kitten we just brought to the vet's house last night:
And here is one of the little kittens we still have:
Here's one in his new home, he turned out so beautiful and the owners ADORE him. Randy and I know we are a huge part of gentling them and helping them to love humans so much and crave attention.
I'm getting more consistent with workouts and feeling very strong. I just need to get rid of a thick layer of body fat!!!!
It takes obsessive focus and energy to keep strong with the nutrition part. In addition to tracking my food in the 1P App, which I absolutely LOVE for tracking food compared to my old days at MFP, I am tracking my daily calories in a spreadsheet so I can visualize the deficit consistency. It's the ONLY thing that will make the fat loss happen. It matters more than the body weight scale. I am forcing myself to use the food scale and measure everything out! I'm also tracking my weight in the 1st Phorm App as well as the calorie spreadsheet in a separate tab. I won't get on the body weight scale every day, once every week or two. Right now, I don't plan to get on the scale again until January 1st. I'm not telling anyone my weight until I reach my goal later next year! Except maybe those who take the opportunity to walk this journey with me and converse with me in the 1P App. In this together!
I'm adding in a little cardio to the weightlifting to add just a little more calorie burn more consistently.
Yesterday I lifted at the Sheriff Gym and I'm so happy that I can do deadlifts and bent barbell row again! I can do those at home as well since I don't need a rack to do them. I have been using my lifting hooks and I am getting strong!
I absolutely LOVE this stair stepper machine at the Sheriff's department. It's the best one I've ever used. When I started the workout, my goal was to just do 30 minutes. Then, I saw the calorie burn and decided to keep going until it hit 200 calories.
The workouts have been feeling AMAZING!
I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas if it is something you celebrate. Just stay calm. It's a stressful time of the year for many people. Not only is it a holiday along with the new year, but it's the end of the year finances and all sorts of accounting type issues. Just stay calm.
And Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas, Roberta! ☃️🎄
ReplyDelete'Just stay calm' Thank you so much for this! I really need this mindset for now. It’s hard to deal with stress.
I feel you, Roberta! Hope you find best doctors for you. 🙏🏻
I love stair stepper. One of the reasons is that it's not popular at a gym here so I can use it as much as I want. 😊
I'm glad to see SweetiePea is well. All the kittens are so adorable as always.
So thankful that I'm in it together with you. I learn A LOT from you.
Have a most blessed weekend!
Merry Christmas Mina!!!!
Deletehoping this will work. I have enjoyed this blog and the pictures. Merry Christmas to all. Happy new Year! The stress of December is over, and things do feel more calm. Getting ready to write out some SMART goals. Found some cool pictures from 2018-2020 that inspire me and remind me that consistency is important. I will take pictures and weigh in tomorrow.
DeleteIt worked Netty!!!! I got your email too and will write when I can. I weigh in tomorrow after 10 days of accurate calorie accounting and workouts! I have a cool excel spreadsheet that helps me stay motivated and I'll write about it soon. Happy New Year my sweet friend. We got this!!!!!
