Today is the last day to enter this eight-week challenge. I barely got in! I wanted to submit yesterday but it was snowing and a crazy day. Spur of the moment as I was taking care of things, Randy asked if I wanted to go on a walk. I didn't feel like it at all, but I got ready to go.
We bundled up for the cold and it definitely felt great about halfway through, but it was work and I felt it! It was dark already when we got back.
Part of the reason I felt like crap is that I've been eating cookies the last couple of days. Too much sugar definitely makes me feel like crap. I need to ban it for a while.
Even though I logged the cookies and sacrificed other meals to keep my calories down, I can tell it doesn't work for me. Even though the numbers show clearly a deficit for the last week, I can tell I have merely maintained.
If I want to be serious about this, I MUST reduce the sugar to very little or zero. I MUST measure out my food. And I must have a meal plan for the day and follow it. EVERY DAY.
So, I will keep going. Never give up. Never settle. Live my dream.
The 1P App makes it easy to make a video right when you are entering your pictures. Just record video. So, I did. I wasn't pretty and I know I'm nothing impressive. Just a little 'ol lady living up in the mountains trying to stay healthy. I'm super glad I'm not on the mainstream social media for people who are not my friends to gawk at me like a zoo exhibit. There I am, I stated my failures and what I need to fix the problem.
Notice when you enter you can add a partner. If you are in it, go ahead and add me as a partner with email address roberta@goldrun.us and let's do this together!!! You can do this even if you already have me in there as your advisor. Let's do this and see what happens!
The kittens are doing well and didn't care that it was snowing outside. They are warm and cozy in their little kitten room doing what kittens do.
I on the road to shoulder replacements this year. We'll schedule after I get all my surgery clearance appointments done next week. The following week I'll have an MRI and CT scan to help the surgeon determine which method of shoulder replacement to perform since there are two different ways to go depending on the damage to bone and connecting tissues in the rotator cuff.
I'm not worried. I can still stick to calories this year. My legs still work for exercise. Upper body work will likely be out of the question all year.
I'll swim a few times before the surgery. After that I can go in the water aerobics pool and tread water with just my legs and one arm and a floating device if needed, after the wound heals enough to go in the pool.
I will be able to do a lot. I might be able to ride the spin bike, use the treadmill and stair stepper, and run outside on the smooth pavement.
And calories!!! Calories are king.
So, onward!!!
If you know anyone who needs the challenge or to walk this journey and wants a partner who knows how it's done. Send them the last article and this one and I will be here to help anyone.
Let's do this!!
