It's not only when you need a rest day.
It's also when you are eating at a calorie deficit in order to lose body fat.
If your workouts make you too hungry to stick to the plan, then it's OK to reduce or take more rest days.
I find if I wait too long in the day to workout, and it's evening, then it might be better to skip. Depending on calories consumed, it might be best to skip eating the rest of the day.
That's what I'm doing now some days. The priority is fat loss and just enough exercise to maintain and stay healthy.
The exercise priority for me lately is all body lifting because surgery is scheduled in a little over a week. After that it's all legs and cardio the rest of the year.
It's working 💪🏻
My calories are consistently UNDER my TDEE and I still feel strong with workouts.
Yesterday I consumed some of my 1200 calories after my workout which is perfect.
I woke up feeling thinner and my jeans are a little more lose.
I won't weigh-in until next Thursday, the day before surgery. The day after surgery is the last day of the current 8- week challenge. I will take pictures as well.
Randy and I are on our way to Sheriff training. It's all about fitness and wellness today, all aspects; fitness, nutrition, mindset, and emotional well-being. It's not anything new to me, but it's confirmation that I'm doing all the right things and I'm living out my purpose.
I'm looking forward to getting on the scale next week and taking my pictures because I am finally consistent about eating under TDEE.
And I am ACCURATE about my food accounting.
Those are two key things you need to do:
1) Eat under TDEE consistently
2) Accurately accounting calories
If anything hinders you to from those, like foods you can't accurately measure, or workouts that make you too hungry, then you need to adjust everything to make those two things happen.
Own those changes.
Execute them.
And then you will start making progress.
No more excuses.
If you want it bad enough, make it happen.
Maybe your WHY is not strong enough. Find out a deep reason for your health and wellness and put it on the forefront of your mind. Think of it for at least two minutes before you eat anything.
Adjust.
That's it for now. Time for Sheriff training.

I agree. Eating less is much more important when losing weight than doing the workout.
