Now I'm reminded of mini meals that it takes to lose weight!
I lost 85 pounds, back in the day, 20 years ago, by simply eating mini meals. I didn't count calories. I just had been on so many diets I could not stay on, but they worked. I studied them and made my own little meal plans. I laughed one day because I called them mini meals, and my schedule had mini fasts. The bottom line is you do have to eat less calories and go further in between meals sometimes. The fasting is good for us and our metabolism, especially fasting carbs! If you can't fast all calories, if you at least fast carbs for 15-20 hours it gives your insulin a break and helps your fat cells release fat storage.
Anyway, back to the planning part. Today I measured out the organic raw cheddar cheese! I got out the food scale and I'm keeping it on the counter. It's not so bad to measure it out! I'm making it a fun game.
See, it all starts adding up fast. But I've already got 25g protein and 27g of fiber which is awesome.
Now, I'm comparing a traditional buttermilk biscuit with the Hero Buttermilk Biscuit. The Hero has 72 less calories, 19 grams more fiber (that's huge!), 5 grams less carbs, and 2 more grams of fat. The Hero does us Resistant Wheat Starch and Wheat protein so it's not for those who can't tolerate wheat.
It is 1 net carb per biscuit. I'm still just counting all carbs and keeping them around 100 grams per day, or less if I can survive it. I make sure the carbs I do consume have fiber (like whole foods, veggies, beans, nuts), or this type of Hero product for my own sanity.
That little breakfast biscuit though! Haha, Yup, that's all you get.
