Really that message can be from any or all of us, including me. It isn't always on vacation. It could be stressful work weeks, or normal days of stress at home. The self sabotage can be on any given day. It usually involves stress, even emotional stress we are unaware of.
We all have to find balance in the process (and know how many calories it takes to gain a pound), in any given situation of our lives, through all kinds of various seasons we go through. There are many thieves of progress and there are many habits we have to continue to build. We have to keep restarting, although I get tired of calling it a restart, as sometimes it's a "restart" several times in a week. It is really just part of life. Most people think they are the only one who has to do it all the time, but that's a big fat lie. I don't know anyone who does not have to do many unplanned restarts.
I like to think of it as just part of life. We all have to eat. We all have to take care of ourselves. It's really just a continuation of habits. Some days we eat too much, other days we have to eat a little less. There is a relationship between stress and food.
We just have to keep going and find our momentum that is just right like Goldilocks.
I still make bread and butter. It's hard not to eat extra of these yummy things!
I'm still getting milk from the farm, and using that to make my protein ice cream, and skimming the cream to make cultured butter and buttermilk.
I still make Randy his tacos. Sometimes I have ONLY ONE. Lately I've been making him Italian Flat bread and homemade pizza. I've been making the dough from scratch. Even all the components for making bread require a specific balance "like Goldilocks." Many things in life require our effort to keep balanced. The amount of bread or tacos I eat, effects my energy balance. It's up to all of us to keep the right energy balance. Higher calorie food means we need LESS. There is some truth to "Eat Less, Move More" but it also requires balance just right like Goldilocks.
I still sometimes, quite often, have to make my own lower calorie plate of tacos (usually just one taco!)
This taco has ground turkey and is made with a cauliflower wrap. The wrap isn't because I avoid carbs, it has just as many carbs as a regular tortilla! I happen to like the taste and texture. It has the added benefit of a bit more fiber.
I still have to fine time to workout! And I still sometimes have to drag my feet to get started.
And yes I still have to deal with all the things in our life, our Sheriff work, our mountain home projects, and the kittens.
I just finished painting the foundation for the solar array we added. Anyone remember when Randy and I poured the cement for this?
I'm still so happy that I'm able to help Randy with projects like this. This time I got to add both of our initials to the foundation with the date we poured the cement.
Every day that I GET TO DO THINGS is a blessing. I honestly don't know how many days I have left, neither do you! That is why the time to do anything, is NOW. Including getting back on track with food or workouts, or whatever it is you need to do to benefit your health.
It doesn't matter how long it takes or how far you have to go. Just start now! Or restart, or roll with the flow, or whatever you want to call it, because it's just part of life to get up again and again and keep going. You are no different than anyone else really, neither am I. Just get up and go!
The other day when I finished painting the foundation this little lizard stayed there with me the entire day. I couldn't seem to scare him away. Hold your ground like this little guy.
The new batch of kittens is doing well. Look how hungry they are every morning! We had a heck of a time with this new batch, there are eight of them. A few got sick and had to go back to the vet for a few weeks, and there was the little guy who had to go back for a while to be tube fed, they ended up calling him Charlie Brown.
Charlie Brown is back with us now, there he is (the little white with black stripes kitten) and they all are having a ball in the kitten room now.
She is back to her happy self and she is sweet as ever!
Well, that's it for today. I need to go do my workout. It is a rainy day here and it's hard to get motivated. I know I'll feel better once I get going.
So, let's do it. The time is now. It doesn't matter how long it takes to achieve whatever goal. All that matters is a little step forward and keep going. It doesn't matter if it's a restart from just one day, weeks, month's, whatever. Just go!
I'm here for all my people. Make a comment or message me in the App. Let's keep going.
Life Goes On.

Roberta, Thank you so much for the updates. Love to see the adorable kittens and so glad to see SweetiePea is okay.
ReplyDeleteI do remember the photos of team Saum that you guys poured cement during one scorching hot day. Amazing to see you finished up even painting. Love to see the initials.
The message from the wonderful lady sounds so familiar. I exactly feel the same as she. Very grateful I'm not alone. Thank you for sharing her message.
I've restarted every other day or month, but I won’t give up either.
Have a most blessed weekend!💜🩷🩵
Indeed, we are not as alone as we often think. We all have battles that most don't see. Have a fantastic week Mina. Just keep going. For life. ❤️
